Hi and welcome to the Stella Starwoman June AstroUpdate!
Thanks to all those of you who wrote to me about your experiences heading out before sunrise this week to watch the planet show - Jupiter, Mars, Crescent Moon, Venus, Mercury and the Rising Sun. Unfortunately the skies in Melbourne have been rather cloudy, but there were a couple of beautifully clear mornings where you could see them all rising in the east - stunning! Readers in Queensland and NSW had much better weather (at least according to the emails I received).
This month's AstroUpdate has an article on Stonehenge and its alignment to the Northern Hemisphere summer solstice on the 22nd June. We tend to think of our ancestors as being less developed technologically than we are, but the architects of Stonehenge used units of measurements that were exact subdivisions of the earth's circumference, its polar axis and polar radius, showing they were well versed in the principles of sacred geometry and metrology over 5000 years ago.
In Australia we celebrate the winter solstice this month, so I've included a special ritual to help you get you through this dark time of year, celebrating and honouring the energy of the season.
